A Dialogue on Hunger: The Hun School's 'Hunger Awareness Dinner' shows that food insecurity is a daily struggle

Trenton Mayor Eric Jackson '76 said he was delighted that The Hun School was encouraging a dialogue on hunger, an issue that affects his city, the nation and the world. “It’s not just a local problem,” he said. “It’s an epidemic. People are suffering from what we take for granted.” As mayor of the capital city, he said, he deals with hunger everyday. “I have real families and individuals in Trenton that would love to have what we leftover just now,” the mayor said. He noted that the donations made during the dinner would go to benefit the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen and urged those who could not make a monetary donation to consider volunteering for the organization. “If you don’t have money, one of the best things you can do is give of your time,” he said. “Do something. Take a step. Be a part of a cause or a solution that impacts someone.”
